we should not stand up, we should just take a beating.

I was being sarcastic in the title because of this; a family research counsel have had said this:
"Where is the tolerance? You won't find any on display with homosexual activists who are determined to attack and silence anyone who dares to disagree or challenge their political or social agenda. Their latest target is actor Kirk Cameron. The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is attacking Cameron for remarks he made in an interview with Piers Morgan last Friday, in which he said that the definition of marriage should be, "One man, one woman for life till death do you part." Cameron, a born-again Christian who starred in the movie Left Behind and the pro-marriage film Fireproof, also said he considers homosexuality to be "unnatural," "detrimental," and "destructive." Perhaps it's GLAAD, not the 1980s teen star, who's out of step, since a 2011 poll showed that 62% of Americans agree with the statement, "I believe marriage should be defined ONLY as a union between one man and one woman." Another 2011 poll found a substantial majority of Americans (56%) believe that "sex between two adults of the same gender" is "morally wrong."
First off, people like the GLAAD are not attacking Kirk Cameron for his speech, they're calling out on his bull. No one is trying to silence him. Kirk has every right to say what he wants and we have every right to say what we want in disagreement. Apparently to the Family Research Council, anyone who disagrees with them are "out to silence them!"
Secondly, more and more people in America are becoming more accepting, slowly but gradually. Isn't it time you stop pretending that every time we speak out, we're "trying to silence" people? When you say horrible things like "unnatural" or "Detrimental to society" you're going to get called out on it and you should be.
I find it ironic that whenever a hateful bigot says stuff about gay people, they have every right to say it, but if someone corrects them, then it's "Oh my god, they're attacking my religious freedom! They're out to silence me with their political agenda and with their abnormal lifestyle!"
Face it, we have every right to stand up for ourselves and we should. We're not bullying anyone; it's you who is bullying us. You're the one who decided to demonize us, you're the one trying to keep us from having rights to a job, marriage, housing and more, you're the one who is allowing people to beat up our kids, and you’re the one who made up lies, not us.
We're not out to silence you, you have every right to say what you want, but you must understand that we too have the right to say what we want. That is our first Amendment. You want tolerance? You need to stop portraying yourself as the victim whenever someone disagrees with you. You’re not being victimized, you’re not being silenced, you’re being debunked. That is plain and simple.
